Jim Sinclair Selling Connecticut Farm/ Estate: Plans to Become an Expatriate

The man who predicted gold would reach $1600 while it was trading below $300 and was ridiculed by nearly everyone, has placed his 34-acre Connecticut farm/ estate up for auction and plans to flee from the growing fascism in the US. Sinclair states on JSMineset that those who decide to stay will look back and recall his advice to leave the US come 2015-2017.
Like many, Sinclair can see the writing on the wall for the end of prosperity and freedom in America.
Clearly, putting one's 34-acre estate up for auction with plans of becoming an expatriate is not a small nor an easy decision.

Full details of the Sinclair Farm/Estate Auction can be found below, and we would like to open this up as an open thread regarding our readers' thoughts both pro and con to the topic of fleeing a growing fascist state formerly known as America.
Has the time come to flee?

I wouldn't live that close to NYC anyway. Time to cash out. These new laws are getting crazy. Where to go? Canada? Mexico? 2015-2017? That's not far away either. I am glad I rent. Maybe time to start lightening the load. One door closes and another door opens.

Been there many times. To experience the REAL Russia, you need to get the hell out of Moscow & St Petersburg; get to know some Russians.

russia isn't too bad, but it seems a bit odd, the way it's run, the rules & protocols and whatnot.

plus, it seems a bit second-world country feel to it, in terms of technology, infrastructure, etc.

it's definitely liveable, but wouldn't be my first choice.

I can see moving to a more remote part of the U.S. could be wise, but moving to somewhere that you'll be a foreigner when a worldwide crash hits? The grass is always greener on the other side of the hill. I prefer the grass here, where I know the lay of the land, where I can hide in plain site next to the other sheeple, where friends can band together for defense.

Funny. I rent an old 50's bungalow in Vancouver, Canada. The owner could sell it in a heartbeat today for more than $3.25 million. Interesting what you can get for your money in different parts of the world.

Congratulations to Mr Sinclair. No freedom in the US. He should look into Mexico, Chile or Costa Rica. Avoid dollarized economy's like Panama.

Everyone knows te job is f#%@ed in the usa, it may even end up worse than the uk by thw looks of it, his property sounds oerfect but is still too close to the city in the event of a collapse scenario.
He knows whats coming and i think its comng this year. South america imo. Ecaudor is meant to be friendly to immigrants.

so many things to comment on here, but re: @anon-3:17, several people we know who went to ecuador got run out, their property vandalized, etc. they were not welcome living like "wealthy americans." they couldn't sell their properties (which were damaged), etc. remember that in third world countries, what we in the US consider lower class, is more like middle class or more there, and our middle class is considered very wealthy to them and engenders MUCH animosity, envy, and at times hostility, etc.

You cannot turn on a computer without there is some thing from the great guru Jim Sinclair. The man who's family started Goldman Sachs. The Sinclair family (Seligman) were so far up the Rothschilds backside they couldn't turn around.
It beats me how he's got time to write so much stuff when he's counting his Gold, selling his shares and hanging out with all of his "elite buddies.
Snake-oil salesman par excellance.

In regards to anon 3:31. There are plenty of places in the world that are safer and have more freedoms than in the US. And today, that is not saying very much.

Yes, the time is here to flee. Or to stand up and scream "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore" and act.

If I was going to leave the US, I'd want to live in a nation with very little public debt otherwise you are not really escaping the underlying problem. This eliminates Singapore & Switzerland from my list.

You'd also want to avoid a nation which seems to favor Socialism, but can't even martial its efforts to get itself there (which makes it seem more "free" than it will be in 10 years). This eliminates Argentina and Dominican Republic.

You also want to avoid Western vassal states which will get told how to manage their expats in the coming crisis. This eliminates tax-havens islands in the Atlantic.

India, China and Hong Kong have potential, but the people there have less respect for liberty than Americans.

I think one should look hard at Chile, Estonia & Iceland for relocating. They are small and very independent. I'd love to hear other's opinions.

When the first state stands up and says 'hell no' to the federal government, that's when it's time to move (and to that state or any state that joins them). Until then, anyone that causes a scene will be thought of as a terrorist and treated as such. The people need their governors and state employees to make a stand first (since their congressional reps have sold them out). Then you join in to take your country back since most of us can't leave.

@TexPat 3:38 PM

"Good luck to those who leave, am digging in and staying."

My sentiment as well.

@Tex 3:50 PM

A couple of weeks ago. I took my American Flag on a pole and while I was in my "Ron Paul 2012 Revolution" long sleeved Shirt, I went down a fairly busy street here in my town of Aurora, CO while singing...

"We not going to take it, and no, we're not going to take it. We're not going to take it... anymore! We're right yeah, we're free yeah, we'll fight yeah... you'll see!"

I had a very good number of people smiling, honking, and waving at me. :-)

That's just one example of one of the numerous things I have done to as a True Patriot.

Get the message out, and get the vote out!

Another example is I became a Ron Paul delegate at the County, Congressional, and State level.

I also buy PM's of course. You have to be the change you want to see.

Cheers

He's too smart to put all his eggs in one basket and move to just one country.

He keeps his options open, you can bet on it.

Estonia? Can you say more? I'm very familiar with Chile and Iceland and I agree. In fact, your reasoning on all the other examples is superb so I'd like to learn about the logic for including Estonia.

I would add New Zealand to the list. The population is small relative to the land mass. It's rich in agricultural production. It's modern and developed, and the population is made up of immigrants. "Small" tends to be more workable when big systems all around fail.

I wouldn't add Australia, by the way. Not enough water. Too much in the US orbit, and many other reasons.

Here in Alberta Canada the provincial political party in power is currently trying to take the power away from parents to determine what their children can and will learn. There was a protest against this change last week and more than 2000 showed up to the legislative building (yours truely included). It was such a rush when 2000+ people started to shout for freedom and liberty. I only hope that my fellow Albertans and Canadian continue that chant in their day to day lives, because I don't want to have to leave the "True, North, Strong, and Free"

I can't speak for Sinclair but I have begun to think about leaving. As a dual national, US and Canada, C does not appeal to me. taxes too high, medical system questionable, guns are nearly prohibited, but maybe a way station to the next venue
I think Uruquay would be a good choice. Tax friendly, no extradition treaties with US, permanent residency in 12 months, citizenship in 3-5 years. Bob Baumann, the offshore guru had a recent interview with a CPA from Uruguay and what was discussed in that chat was revealing. While the government is somewhat socialist they want to grow th country, knowing that foreign investment is the best way to get growth IMO Uruguay would be one good location. I emailed Doc about transporting phyzz offshore. I found a source called Viamat It appears to be able to ship phyzz but customs has a say in that system.
I would appreciate anyone who would weigh in on how to transport PM from the USSA currency ring fence

@ Flying Wombat Oh New Zealand for sure. There was talk of a free-trade zone there, I'm not sure if that passed their Congress. But an Anglo-Hong Kong would be a stupendously great place for American ex-pats.

As for Estonia, it is a very low tax nation, with low public debt. It consistently pops up on lists of Libertarian nations. From what I understand the Nordic nations are starting to stealing the neutral banking thunder from Switzerland, as the Swiss are starting to cave into US and EU banking demands. Of course, Estonia is part of the EU so that is a strike against it.

I also agree with whoever crossed Canada off their list. That isn't a big improvement (if at all) over the US in my humble opinion.

Anonymous said...

Another note on Chile. The author of Sovereign Man blog love that nation, and he is an ex-pat. Also, since its in a similar timezone as the US, freelance Internet workers would have an easier time working there and doing contract work with US companies than living in NZ, Europe, Asia or Africa.

My family of six (three generations) left four years ago. We were looking for a temperate climate with good water supplies and food production. We felt that good governance trumped taxes in importance and that a well educated citizenry was a must.

Our choice was more of a small region than the country as a whole because we feel local economies are going to be more important than national economies.

Our choice has been perfect for us because we we thought long and hard about what was most important to our family for the long-term future.

I hate to say it but marching and demonstations mean NOTHING to the powers in charge. It's like a homeless guy marching outside your house on the street... close the blinds and he's gone. But yes, Russia can seem like another planet, although living the simple, semi self-sufficient life in a rural area there would not be all that bad.

I agree, You definitely don't want to come to Canada. It sucks up here.
Our healthcare is damn near free. We get way too much for the taxes we pay. There's far too much farm land and wilderness for sale. Our beer is way too strong . You have to get a license to purchase / own a long gun or pistol. When the pole shift happens we'll be an equatorial climate. We don't put flouride in our water. We actually test our pharmacuticals before we release them to the public. Our banking system is one of the most stable on the planet due to heavy regulation. We actually prosecute white collar criminals. Most of the rest of the world loves us. Hypothecation/re-hypothecation is non -existent in Canada. Last but not least is that we live right next door to the place you want to escape from.
Mexico is probably where you want to go. Considering the immigration policy the US has had with Mexico in the past, I’m sure they will be more than happy to welcome all Americans with open arms.

I have been living in Latin America for two years. Most people from the US will find it hard to live there and make a life, even with money. Those raised catholic will understand things a bit better in my opinion. Not from a religious stand point, but culturally. If you want to live in Latin America, you MUST speak Spanish or you will be isolated and end up hanging around with other expats. Yes, other languages are spoken, but everything ends in Spanish. Period.

These are my thoughts.... I Love Jim Sinclair. so I say this.. once you leave Jim don't come back. Many of us here do not have the finances to just pack up and leave. Those of us who must stay and fight to get our Liberty back are the ones who deserve to take part in the abundance that will come when our Constitution is restored. Those of you who leave us to do the dirty work and do not want to get your hands dirty or risk your life or wealth can just stay where you went. There actually is NO place left in the world. I say stay and fight for what is right like our founders did. Then again having a self sufficient farm only 2 hours from New York city is not very smart either. I'm out in the middle of bumfuck egypt in Colorado. 4 hours away from the closest major city. But I say again... you people who want to expat, have at it but don't expect to be welcome back with open arms.

My family was a positive force in America for 352 years, we didn't leave on a whim. We left because the country has become ungovernable and self-destructive. We aren't anti-American in any way. We are realists. Just as our immigrant ancestor so long ago, we felt the need to seek another life. After four years I have to say that we made a good decision for us.

The grandchildren are thriving, our daughter and her husband have started a new successful business, and we are in a very positive environment. It's not for everybody and the transition was stressful, but we have put our family in a good place.

it's not that jim has abandoned america, it's that america has abandoned him (and abandoned the rest of us that believe in living in a free society).

it's far better to leave this once-great nation than to continue to be a part of it and continue to contribute to it, once one has determined that this nation has inexorably taken the path of warmongering, facism, and evil.

He probably will be a target post collapse due to his wall street connections and being CEO of a gold mining company. I'm not saying he hasn't paid his dues and earned it, and I can't blame him for the self preservation instinct, but like the rest of the elite, he's getting out while the gettin's good.

I don't get the defeatist attitude of some people. You think your future is etched in stone. Don't buy into it. As they say "the best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry". I think alot of these elite are just being given enough rope to hang themselves. Sure this is going to be extremely tough and ugly, but out of the ashes the Phoenix will be reborn. People like Sheriff Joe Arpaio are doing the right thing...those are the folks that need our support, not the ones that are running.

Jim is in fact taking action. He is voting with his feet just as we would vote with how we spend our money (if we actually lived in a free market which we never had). I'm still here in the USSA and obviously don't have anywhere near the type of wealth Jim has but I also would like to leave the country (residence first and then later consider expatriation). Of course I wish the best of luck to the patriots and freedom lovers who remain and actually understand individual liberty. However, I cannot see staying here as voting and fighting this system by using their rules is only for the misguided. We now vote with DieBold computers which can not only be hacked and rigged but also can no longer be verified or recounted. As Stalin said, "It's Not the People Who Vote that Count; It's the People Who Count the Votes" that mean anything.

Whiskey Six said...

The Sheep, not there yet, but when hyperinflated to oblivion and hungry, they will rise like a bear from hibernation. We know the elite have their own escape plan and once enacted, they will be too busy trying to save themselves and we'll reboot the system and start over. I guarantee it! ;)
